"THIS RARE AND SOUGHT AFTER GEM IS A TREASURE TO CHERISH AND TO USE IN YOUR AUDACIOUS, ELEGANT AND UNIQUE JEWELRY MASTERPIECES."
Getting back to our beloved variety… Mandarin Garnets were first discovered in the 1990’s in Namibia. This first discovery was mind-blowing and blurred interests from many gemologists. Crystals were neon and vibrant orange with great clarity. Other sources in Nigeria were found around the same time, offering subtle yellowish orange. Supply has since then been very sporadic, making it one of the rarest gem on earth in fine qualities. Crystals are usually heavily included and allow to cut less than 1 carat gem quality.
At Taymans Fine Gems, we offer a broad range of clean Mandarin Garnets in different sizes and cutting styles. We also have some very fine 5cts+ gems available. Garnet's color specificity means that this gem is usually best set against yellow or rose gold. We are sure it will ravish your unique creations !
