Aquamarine : the richness of the intense blue sky captured within a gemstone

Dear gem enthusiasts,

Today, we would like to introduce you to one of the stars of our collection : the Aquamarine. Aquamarine is much more than just a precious stone - it's a symphony of soothing blues and crystalline clarity. With its shades ranging from transparent light blue and greenish blue to intense blue, each piece tells a story of natural beauty. Its subtle color reminds us of the crystal-clear waters of the oceans. The color of Aquamarine is generally attributed to traces of iron in the crystalline structure.

The name Aquamarine comes from Latin meaning "water of the sea”, and it was said to calm the waves and ensure the safety of sailors at sea. The birthstone of March was also believed to promote marital happiness. Aquamarine deposits are found in various regions around the world, including Brazil, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Mozambique and Madagascar, among others.

Within this beautiful variety of Beryl, a color called "Santa Maria" has for long caught our attention. "Santa Maria" Aquamarine is the name of a color ranging from medium intense to intense blue color, with high saturation and great clarity. This distinctive and vibrant color is considered the most valuable among Aquamarines, making them highly sought-after gemstones in the market. It was first discovered in the region of Santa Maria in Brazil around 40 years ago. This source has quickly been exhausted. A few years later, some deposits were found in Mozambique and Madagascar. Nowadays, the extraction has become very sporadic making it a very rare asset. "Santa Maria" Aquamarine is a must have in every "haute joaillerie" collection.

"AQUAMARINE IS MUCH MORE THAN JUST A PRECIOUS STONE - IT'S A SYMPHONY OF SOOTHING BLUES AND CRYSTALLINE CLARITY".

Whether in rings, necklaces or earrings, Aquamarine lends itself beautifully to a variety of designs and styles, offering endless versatility to your collection. Due to its rarity and exceptional quality, Aquamarine adds a unique value to each jewelry creation. It also guarantees your clients an incomparable and precious piece.

At Taymans Fine Gems, as gemologists passionate about finding the most exceptional gemstones, we have carefully selected and cut each Aquamarine rough for its exquisite color, immaculate clarity, and unique rarity. We invite you to explore our collection of Aquamarine and discover for yourself the timeless magic of these extraordinary gemstones.
